Eyes. Lips. Face. Studio Matte Lip Color Reivew

I have a crazy love affair with e.l.f. cosmetics. The brand is inexpensive which speaks to my frugal side but the quality is amazing!

I got my hands on one of their Studio Matte Lip Color’s in Tea Rose and let me just say I’m in lip color love! It is the perfect pinky nude color on me CoCo complexion! It has some staying power like no other and the application goes on smoothly for it to be a matte lip product.

Me Loves Me Red Lips

“Want your pretty red lips, red lips
Girl you know what you do to me
You got that red lipstick on
Baby kiss me til your lipstick gone
Red lips, red lips
You got that red (red, red)
You got that red (red, red)
You got that red lipstick on
Baby kiss me til your lipstick gone” -Trey Songz Red Lipstick

Don’t you just love that song!

My all time favorite lips are the Matte Red Lips. They are so sexy and classic. When you go with a bold red lip the rest of your makeup can be neutral because your lips make a statement all on its own. To achieve my matte red lips I like to use MAC’s Ruby Woo. Although I purchase a lot of different brands I always come back to Ms. Woo! Since my complexion is dark I like to add a matte lip stain to my lips just for a little umph on it! I like to use  NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Amsterdam or I also like Wet n Wild Mega Last Liquid Lip Color in Red my Mind.

Paying Homage

Recently I’ve been trying to come up with office/beauty room ideas. I want to go with an old Hollywood glamor theme. I love the fashion and femininity of the 1950’s! Look at the cover of  this issue of Vogue super glam and very lady like!

While researching ideas via Pinterest and YouTube  I always come across photographs of the same starlets: Audrey Hepburn

Audrey H

Marilyn Monroe (whom i love BTW)

Marilyn M

and Liz Taylor

elizabeth t(another favorite)

They all were very beautiful and very talented women of their time don’t get me wrong.  However, I wonder why we hardly ever spotlight and display African American women of Old Hollywood? We were Glamorous, Feminine, and Lady Like!  We had Style and Grace

The first Black woman to grace the cover of Life Magazine! #Epic

They’ve made major contributions to Black Hollywood so these are the women I choose to grace the walls of my beauty room! Although I enjoyed Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, and The Last Time I Saw Paris. We should always give credit to the women who broke the boundaries for Black Women in Hollywood!

I wanted to keep what I wore that day simple but elegant so I went with the classic peplum dress and pretty champagne glittery heel with black and gold accessories. I wasn’t sure if I was going to wear the unit of that I did because I’m so use to my black hair but this unit worked out perfectly. I have on MAC foundation, primer, and red lipstick (my classic favorite Ruby Woo)  My husband said he had one request and that was for me to marry him with red lipstick on! Urban Decay’s Naked 2 palette and an ELF cosmetics palette on the eyes.

Lipstick Diaries

I know it has been a good little while since I last posted…. I’m such a bad blogger 😦 life got a little hectic these past few months and I’m trying slowly but surely to get back on track. I hoped you missed me! Now that I carved a little free (me) time I wanted to share with you dolls my favorite beauty products LIPSTICKS. I own countless of lipsticks. I’m going to do reviews of them both new and old. For my first review I picked a Covergirl lipstick.  Covergirl lipsticks are my favorite drugstore brand. They do not dry your lips and the color last for a good while.  What I’m wearing in the photos is Covergirl’s Spellbound. If u know me then you know how I feel about a pink lip… Gorgeous! I’m in love with this lipstick. And it will definitely be on repeat this summer.
